This is a tribal design that I am very pleased with in all means (aside the attempt count to get it this way). The design uses a combination of images found off Google images. I redrew them to a 5x7 appropriate size and put the Japanese symbol for karma inside the wings of the tribal phoenix. The filling was all pilot G2 ink pen.
Originally, I had wanted for it to glow in the dark with the same paper, but I found quickly that water-based paints and standard multi-purpose printer paper are not fond of each other. Thus, I painted a 5x7 sheet of paper to put behind it. It now illuminates from behind the print, sparing the wrinkle to the actual artwork itself. And just like my latest Sasuke drawing, this is also for an art trade gift to ~shadokin77. Not only is it cool as a functional piece of room decor, but it makes for an awesome tattoo or automotive design.
Wow, this is absolutely stunning! I honestly think this is where your artistic strength really shows. Are you going to be doing any more tattoo-ish things?

Probably. Since my friend and I got the same tattoo as my going away gift/art trade, I was contemplating designing a second one for us. He was thinking this for his back, which is a ideal place for it.
I think you're right though. I tend to do better with these kinds of designs. It may take several attempts like this one did, but it does turn out to a very positive liking.
